Wersja polska

Unwritten story

One of the Polish directors used to live in the 90's of the XX century in New York, where he met an old rabbi of Polish origin. He told him the story which took place in Lublin during the World War II. During the liquidation of the Lublinghetto young Jewish girl was cought and sent to the camp at Majdanek, where she was killed soon. A Polish man was in love with her and couldn't believe that she was gone. He thought that she is still alive and he is hiding her. He even dug a hole in his basement.

The rabbi told the story to Isaac Bashevis Singer who wanted to write a novel based on it. Unfortunately, before doing that, the writer got sick and died. Thus, the story is still waiting for somebody who will write it down.
